The life of a SARCAN Administrative Assistant:
Each and every SARCAN team member is an important part of our team and our community. As an Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the scheduling, dispatching and maintaining of depot trailer switches / depot supply shipments in accordance with SARCAN Procedures.
- Coordinating trailer switches with drivers and transport companies.
- Inputting data, submitting reports and maintaining statistical spreadsheets as required.
- Performing general office duties.
- Providing back up to the Office Administrator position in their absence.
- Becoming the biggest recycling expert among all of your family and friends
What are the skills you must have to perform this role?
To be successful as an Administrative Assistant at SARCAN, you will need to:
- Have the ability to do physical work.
- Have previous experience working in an office environment.
- One-year office experience, post-secondary office administration certificate is an asset.
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required; comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
- Exhibit a strong degree of professionalism, while remaining highly personable and approachable in the company of people of all abilities, cultures, and backgrounds
- Have the ability to work independently.
- Provide a satisfactory criminal record as a condition of employment.
- Have flexibility with changes to priorities and deadlines.
